September - Macs & Jewies
Fishing Report September 2014
September has been prime time on the bluewater scene. Makerel have schooled in big numbers out wide of Dundee. This year the average size is around 10kg which is providing plenty excitement for our guests, double and tripple hook ups are common and get everyone running around the boats chasing their fish.
Jewies have also been in good form on the right tides. Most trips are bagging out in a short time, people can't believe the intensity on a jewie session when they are really zipping.
Gt's and queenfish have also been plentiful and we have had some great fun, especially cathing them on poppers. Trout and other reef fish have also been going well.
We are now looking forward to October and targeting a few salt water barra in the river. The buils up is now in fully swing and the rising tempreture will bring on some good barramundi fishing. The bluewater action will continue with the mackerel and we should start to see some tropy size golden snapper as they move in to spawn.
